Map and Skin

The map has the consistency of skin: marked, sensitive and crossed by changing paths. Two broad rectangular fields face one another across a slender vertical division of white, yellow and magenta that continues beyond their edges. Both are covered with raised dark contours over veils of ochre, pink, violet, green and grey. In the warmer left panel, a large arcing concentric movement surrounds a central band of squared vertical elements; in the cooler field at right, a related succession of small upright modules crosses the centre among more open undulating lines. Upper and lower areas remain part of the same flow, with irregular densities and frayed edges. The luminous join separates two autonomous variations on the same constructive principle.
