Trees on the Ridge

Subjects and visual language
Three trees mark the ridge with different weights: the first, taller and darker, holds the gaze; the others recede towards a violet band that opens the sky. The foreground is crossed by swift marks and flecks of colour, as though light had awakened the earth's surface. Oppo reduces the landscape to its essential relationships without taking away its warmth. The simplicity of the view becomes a measure of distance and belonging, quiet but never still.
