Subjects and visual language
The horizontal landscape unfolds in successive bands: dark fields scored by marks and material relief in the foreground; a patchwork of green, brown and olive-grey plots at the centre; paler hills and mountain profiles beneath a graded blue sky in the distance. The inscription ‘A. Oppo 94/97’ is visible at lower right. The double date may indicate two working phases or a span from 1994 to 1997, but its meaning is not documented. According to the owner’s testimony, Oppo gave the work to the tenant of the house in Li Punti, Sassari, where he had lived, before subsequently moving home. Hilly landscape is an Archive catalogue designation; technique and support are not documented. The reported dimensions, 110 × 100 cm, include the frame.
