Augusto Salvatore Oppo, 1964. Mixed-media painting on metal: a thin metal sheet coated with a gold-coloured film is mounted on bright blue card. Centred within the monochrome field, the vertical form bears a network of incised marks, intersecting lines and faint circular motifs. The contrast between the light-responsive gold surface and the uniform blue ground gives the composition a restrained rhythm and a distinct material presence.
