Augusto Oppo would narrow his eyes both while painting and when looking at a finished work, softening detail to bring out form, light, contrast and the rhythm of the composition.
This experience digitally interprets that gesture. It does not reconstruct exactly what he saw, but invites us to imagine how the work might have appeared to his gaze.

Subjects and visual language
The vertical composition is dominated by a large dark-blue field across the lower and left areas. A grey-green band crosses the upper zone; at the centre, a sequence of pale and blue rectangles forms a vertical axis beside grey and brown fields. According to the Doria family’s testimony, Oppo gave the work to his painter friend Mario Doria as a wedding gift. Documents in the collection record the group exhibition by Oppo, Doria and Gavino Caria at Sassari’s Circolo della Caccia, 23–30 April 1960, but do not date the gift.
